भारतीय भाषा दिवस: Culinary Competition

NOTICE

All students are hereby informed that the Department of Hindi in collaboration with the Department of Home Science is conducting a Culinary Competition, for the celebration of ‘भारतीय भाषा दिवस’ on 03-12-2022 from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon.

The theme of the competition will be ‘भारतीय स्वाद’

The Instructions are as follows:

1.    One team must comprise of 2-3 participants.

2.    Each group has to prepare and serve (at appropriate temperature) a beverage and a savoury (main dish).

3.    The participants are supposed to prepare and serve 3 portions of each of the prepared dishes.

4.    The participants are required to bring all the ingredients, crockery, cutlery and other display material like table cover, mats and cloth napkins on their own.

5.    Separate crockery and cutlery should be arranged for judges.

6.    Display must comprise of a small-sized menu card mentioning the name of the dish and the calorie content per serving.

7.    Decoration of the display area and selection of the menu items should be according to the theme i.e. “भारतीय स्वाद”. You can adhere to a particular cuisine, both in terms of selection and preparation.

8.    All the pre-preparation like cutting, chopping, boiling, baking, steaming, kneading can be done in advance from home.

9.    Only assembling of the dish and basic cooking can be done in the cookery laboratories (A-301 and C-305). Participants can start preparation of the recipe from 10:00 am onwards.

10.   The time-limit for preparation and display of recipes is 2 hours, therefore it is expected that the display of the recipe should be completed by 12:00 noon.

11.  Students are expected to dress in traditional attire of the state they wish to represent

12.  Evaluation will be done on the basis of:

·         Selection of the Recipe

·         Presentation/ Display

·         Taste and portion size

·         Attire of the Participant

13.  No student will be allowed without cooking gears – Apron/labcoat and head scarf.

14.  For reheating of the dishes, microwave oven can be provided but one has to get her own microwave proof dishes.

16. No students will be allowed to enter in lab after 10:30 am.

17. Winners will be awarded with a certificate and prize.

18. All participants shall be awarded with a certificate.
